From Russia with Love: Day 4

7th June 2013

Tours offer the opportunity to make interesting local discoveries, such as this little gem…

Members of Aurora have thoroughly enjoyed getting into character for our Britten performances, not least the opportunity to wear medieval-style habits; Principal Viola Max Baillie models this season’s must-have look!

Our performances have attracted interest from Russian TV channels, in particular the connection with Rembrandt’s painting of The Prodigal Son in the Hermitage. A couple of news channels sent reporters to cover Wednesday’s concert and depending on how good your Russian is, you might like to check out this link as well as the Time Out article below!

Last night’s concert of The Burning Fiery Furnace was another triumph with a hugely engaging performance by tenor, James Gilchrist. Aurora has thoroughly enjoyed working under the expert direction of Roger Vignoles for these performances and we’ll leave today’s post with some candid shots from the pit.
