Aurora’s debut appearance at the Snape Proms includes screenings of the brilliant Tom and Jerry cartoon The Cat Concerto alongside Gene Kelly’s lavish ballet finale from the 1951 film An American in Paris, with live performances of their respective scores by Scott Bradley and George Gershwin. The programme is completed by a major new moving image commission based around Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, and music by white-hot young American composer Nico Muhly.
