The Da Capo Foundation was started in 1991 and has enjoyed great success with its dynamic music education programme, which draws on the methods of Kodaly and Dalcroze. From its beginnings as a Saturday morning music school 16 years ago, Da Capo activities have grown to encompass Family Music Centres, long-term school music teaching programmes, musical projects, events and projects, teacher training and licensing, and a design and publishing subsidiary. Da Capo works throughout the UK and has an independently run franchised school in Singapore.

All Da Capo activities are based on a philosophy of voice-based music-for-all where every child's response matters. Da Capo particularly thrives in difficult environments. Its unique features are a mature, tested and coherent curriculum programme, delivered by highly qualified professional musicians. Da Capo's results have been impressive and lasting, both for the children and families that it reaches and the schools that have participated in its programmes.

"Da Capo's work is inspirational.. the resources, the ideas, the support." Music Teacher, North London.

One of the most important aspects of this collaboration is that every member of Aurora Orchestra will receive thorough training in the Da Capo method and in working with young people. We believe that the combination of the Da Capo Foundation's experience, expertise and resources, alongside the vitality and youth of Aurora's players will create a unique and exceptional outreach portfolio.
