Far, Far Away Schools’ shows

Tue 6 February 2024
Level 5 Function Room, Southbank Centre
10.30am, 11.45am & 1pm

Sound your car horn, rise above the world in a hot air balloon, build a train and much more in Aurora Orchestra’s new immersive performance for EYFS and KS1 classes.

Aurora Orchestra’s Far, Far Away series takes music and storytelling to new heights in this adventurous performance for curious young minds.

Created specially for EYFS and KS1 classes, this engaging session uses discovery and play to introduce junior audiences to the magic of musical performance.

Featuring new chamber arrangements of Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s music and a new original story by Aurora Orchestra’s Writer-in-Residence Kate Wakeling, jump on board to give your class’s creative engines a rocket boost this February.

All class teachers of schools attending the performances are invited to our free CPD session, run by Aurora’s primary music specialists, to learn the main song ahead of the show and take away suggestions of activities for the classroom related to the story. This free CPD session takes place at the Southbank Centre on Monday 29 January from 4.15pm–5.30pm.
