Schubert String Quintet in C Major, D.956
Jessie Maryon-Davies presenter
Principal Aurora string players
Franz Schubert’s final instrumental work is one of the greatest pieces of chamber music ever penned. Ferociously beautiful, it delves deep into the human soul, taking the listener on a journey that is at once tragic and uplifting. For this very special intimate late-night performance, be completely enveloped in the music as we lower the lights and invite you to come and sit or lie down in and amongst the musicians.
NB this event has been designed to be experienced at floor level with comfortable floor matting and cushions. Audience members will be invited to sit, recline or lie flat on the floor and will be asked to remove their shoes when entering the cushion area. Traditional seating is very limited and cannot be booked ahead of time.
Doors open – 9.45pm
Event begins – 10pm
