Aurora Orchestra

Hear Us Out!

Because we believe our entire programme of work should be accessible to as many people as possible we are finding more and more ways to get our players and music out into schools and the community.

Aurora’s Hear Us Out! programme delivers an urgent message that orchestral music is accessible for everyone.  The programme currently reaches thousands of people across London and the UK through the following projects:

Listen Live!
Linked to our New Moves series at LSO St Lukes, projects give secondary school students opportunities to explore Aurora’s concert repertoire through cross-arts collaborations within their school, and attend an Aurora concert.

One Piece Projects
Players take 3-player chamber arrangements of orchestral works into primary and secondary schools, where students discover the music in depth and become part of a re-imagined performance of the work.

Little Big Concerts
3-player chamber arrangements of orchestral works are used to take orchestral works into community settings including schools, retirement homes, and hospitals.

Listen Up!
Primary school skills-building projects delivered in partnership with the Da Capo Foundation.  Projects include teacher-training programmes to enable musical skills to be taught in the classroom using Dalcroze and Kodaly techniques.

Orchestrated!
Side-by-side and coaching schemes for secondary school and youth orchestras.

Instrumental Introductions
A series of one-day projects which bring live music to schools and enable children to try instruments.

Access all Areas
Concerts in big halls for little people and events and resources linked to our main concert programme to enable easier access and engagement for every age group!
