Instrumental Introductions take place over a school day. The projects introduce children to orchestral instruments through interactive workshops and a concert performance in their school. There are also opportunities for ‘instrument taster’ sessions where children can try instruments with guidance from Aurora players. Depending on the schools’ needs we either work as one group of 13 players in a school or divide into wind, brass and string quintets.
The orchestra has taken Instrumental Introductions to 16 schools in Hammersmith and Fulham. This included successful visits to two schools for children with special needs.
