Maxamorphosis is Aurora’s most ambitious dance commission to date. A collaboration pairing composer Julian Philips with choreographer Mickaël ‘Marso’ Rivière, it is built around Aurora’s Principal Viola Max Baillie – who in addition to his instrumental skills is also a trained dancer. Here are some photographs shot at rehearsals earlier this week to give you a flavour (thanks to Simon Fernandez and Sinfini Music for the terrific images). There are still some tickets remaining for the London premiere of the piece on Friday 13 July at LSO St Luke’s – click here to book.
Maxamorphosis was commissioned with the generous support of the RPS Drummond Fund and the PRS Foundation. The project is also supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation (which sponsors Aurora’s cross-art form collaborations for the New Moves series), Arts Council England, and gifts from Thomas Ponsonby and Eduardo Tamraz.
