Aurora trustee recruitment 2021

21 May 2021

We are seeking to strengthen and diversify Aurora Orchestra’s board with the appointment of new trustee-directors.

Since its launch in 2005, Aurora has established itself amongst the most creative and engaging forces in classical music. Although the pandemic has posed huge challenges for our small organisation, it has also refined our sense of purpose and catalysed even bolder artistic plans for the coming seasons.  These include the launch of a major new digital learning project aimed at giving primary school teachers the resources and confidence to embed music in the classroom. The orchestra is also striving to reinforce its commitment to diversity and inclusion and embed this throughout its programme, aiming to ensure its work is accessible and relevant to the broadest possible audience, irrespective of age or background.

As it positions itself to achieve these goals, Aurora is seeking to reinforce its board with at least two new trustee-directors. We welcome applications from individuals who bring a passion for music and the arts more generally; a track record in innovation and strategic contribution to organisations; a broad professional skill set; and great networks which could be mobilised in support of the orchestra. We are particularly keen to appoint new trustees from black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, and warmly welcome applications from all underrepresented groups.

Applications from candidates with relevant experience in one or more of the following areas are particularly encouraged:

Digital audience development and partnerships
Online education / EdTech
Creative learning in schools
Legal
