We take Beethoven’s epic Eroica Symphony to Snape Maltings Concert Hall for a fully memorised performance.
It is paired with Strauss’ first horn concerto in a celebration of youth – both that of the composer (who wrote it at 18 after a lifetime of listening to his father, one of the foremost horn players of the time) and that of the soloist, Annemarie Federle, who became Aurora’s youngest ever principal player at the age of 20.
