.Aurora Orchestra makes its Berlin debut with Beethoven’s dancing Symphony No. 7, paired with Abel Selaocoe’s joyful concerto, Four Spirits.
Despite his worldwide success, Abel Selaocoe has never forgotten where his cultural roots lie: Four Spirits is a passionate homage to his South African homeland. In addition to the cello, Selaocoe also takes on the vocal part, a very special overtone song, the Umngqokolo. Then a foray into classical music: the Seventh Symphony is performed by the renowned Beethoven specialists of the British Aurora Orchestra under the direction of Nicholas Collon, with the musicians of the orchestra each playing their part by heart.
