Mahler and the Mountain Adventure (for grown-ups)

Sat 6 December 2025
9:00 pm, Hall Two, Kings Place

We’re promising a seriously unserious night of chamber music as we reimagine our much-loved children’s storytelling concert for a slightly more grown-up evening.

Enjoy an hour of arrangements of Alma and Gustav Mahler’s music, lovingly arranged and wrapped up in a whimsical mountain adventure, for adults who appreciate irony, beauty, and the occasional innuendo.

Guided by ever-charming presenter Jessie Maryon-Davies and top-tier musicians who don’t mind poking fun at themselves (and each other), this evening will be equal parts delightful and ridiculous. You’ll hear genuine music by both Mahlers but with a wink: drama, a goat, musical mischief, and perhaps even a sing-along you didn’t see coming.

Grab a drink, settle down, and prepare for an evening where musical storytelling meets playful chaos. Because sometimes the best way to appreciate serious music… is to stop taking it so seriously. Bring your friends, your curiosity, and your inner child (but please, do leave the actual children at home).
