The Rite of Spring – International Tour

Aurora takes its ground-breaking memorisation of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring on tour.

First performed from memory by Aurora in 2023, The Rite of Spring is one of the most influential pieces of the 20th century. Taking away the music stands allows us to communicate more intensely with each other and the audience, an orchestra breathing as one with no barriers.

But first, feel the simmering pulse of Ravel’s Boléro, slowly building over one drum pattern until it sweeps you up in a transformative climax. Then comes the adrenaline rush of John Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine – exhilarating, breathless, unstoppable. In Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, we’re joined by the phenomenal Hayato Sumino, whose playing fuses classical brilliance with a touch of jazz swagger and heart.

And then – the Rite. Earth-shaking, feral, unforgettable.
