.Join Aurora for the final German date on our memorised Rite of Spring tour.
“We simply tried to find a way to present music in a unique way.” Conductor Nicholas Collon explains how he came up with the idea of having his Aurora Orchestra repeatedly play pieces from memory and while standing. “The orchestra really enjoys it.” It began in 2014 with Mozart’s Symphony No. 40. Since then, the concerts have become true shows. Theatrical artistry, recitations, and explanations electrify the audience. Ten thousand people in London have already been captivated by Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring played from memory. Hayato Sumino is an exceptional soloist who fits perfectly into such an extraordinary evening. The young Japanese pianist is also known as YouTube phenomenon Cateen. For his version of Ravel’s Bolero, he needs two pianos. And for Rhapsody in Blue, his harmonica is also included.
Child-friendly introduction: Parents enjoy the entire concert while the children are prepared for the second half during the first half (€19.50 for one adult and one child, each additional adult €12.00, each additional child €7.50). Ticket reservations required: tickets@theater-essen.de
