.The final night on our international Rite of Spring tour takes us to Geneva.
From the unrelenting rhythms of Ravel’s Boléro to the pulse-pounding speed of John Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine, and the lush, jazzy textures of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue (with Hayato Sumino at the piano), this programme is a rollercoaster of sound.
And to culminate, Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring — played entirely from memory.
