After our 2025 inaugural weekend at Snape to celebrate our 20th anniversary, we’re returning for a weekend residency, full of rhythm, collaboration and joyous music-making.
On Friday night we join forces with the BBC Singers, Britten Pears Chamber Choir and pianist Nicholas McCarthy for a programme ablaze with colour, rhythm and life. From Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the Left Hand to Fauré’s celestial Requiem, via the pulsing rhythms of John Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine and Ravel’s Boléro, we move inexorably from darkness into light.
And then we’ll create a riot in the concert hall, as we bring our award-winning exploration of Stravinsky’s groundbreaking The Rite of Spring to Snape Maltings. Get under the skin of the music in a first-half dramatisation of the music’s creation and context with actors, before we perform the riotous work from memory in the second half.
