The much-loved children’s story by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen becomes a musical adventure in this world premiere for families and children aged 4–8.

“Early one morning a mouse met a wolf and was quickly gobbled up…”

Published in 2018, ‘The Wolf, the Duck and the Mouse’ became an instant classic of children’s literature. Author Mac Barnett’s collaboration with illustrator Jon Klassen tells the story of a mouse who is swallowed by a wolf, only to discover that he’s not alone: a duck is already installed in the belly of the beast, and it turns out life inside a wolf is pretty good! There’s lots of delicious food, dancing, and of course no more fear of being gobbled up. All is well, until a hunter arrives…

Martin Suckling’s new piece for children reimagines the story as a musical adventure that introduces young children to orchestral music and instruments in a playful and engaging way. Expect lots of fun audience participation, beautiful set design, sublime music-making from the players of Aurora Orchestra, guest narrator Zweyla Mitchell Dos Santos, and of course Jon Klassen’s instantly recognisable illustrations.

Recommended for ages 4–8.

‘The Wolf, the Duck and the Mouse’ by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen is a subversive delight. […] An unexpected, hilarious collaboration.’ (The Guardian)
