Alistair Lomax

Trustee

Alistair joined the Aurora board in Summer 2018. Alistair studied oboe and baroque oboe at the Royal Northern with Robin Canter. He has had a varied career as performer, minor impresario, facilitator, charity chief executive and higher education fundraiser, working with the likes of Oxfam, Save the Children International, Refugee Resource, UCL, Imperial College and University College Cork. Joining Aurora brings him back to his heartland, in music. It’s also music at home as his partner, the Eighteenth Centurist, Susanne Aspden, is Chair of Faculty Board in Music at the University of Oxford, where they live.

Alistair led the Advancement team at the University of Buckingham. Together with Vice-Chancellor, Sir Anthony Seldon, he established the first major drive for the University, raising over £30 million. Alistair is now the founding Director of the Oxford to Cambridge Arc Universities Group, a collaboration between the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
