John has appeared as a soloist with Aurora over the past season at the Aldeburgh Festival, in collaboration with Poet in the City and as part of the Mozart concerto series at Kings Place. He is especially well known in the field of chamber music and song as a performer and teacher; he is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (where he teaches chamber music and accompaniment) and is a visiting ensemble coach at Goldsmiths College.
Aurora Memory
I have Aurora to thank for some of the headiest post-concert dopamine rushes of my life: I’ll always remember the sense of relief and achievement which I felt at the end of two days playing exceptionally thorny repertoire live on Radio 3 at the Wellcome Collection. The Brazil tour of 2014 also stands out as a personal highlight: great music making with wonderful colleagues in a fascinating country.
