Henry Baldwin

Percussion

A percussionist is performing on a raised platform surrounded by railings, playing drums in a warmly lit venue. The background features industrial-style elements and glowing lights, creating a vibrant atmosphere. In the foreground, a crowd of spectators is visible, slightly out of focus.

Henry combines his role at Aurora with the position of Section Principal Percussion at the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and a teaching post at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Henry has also given masterclasses at many other conservatoires in the UK. Outside music Henry likes to spend time with his family and running, ideally somewhere with mountains.

Aurora Memory

My favourite Aurora memory has to be the Horrible Histories Prom. The orchestra was on top form and we played some fantastic symphonic repertoire not usually tackled by Aurora. The Horrible Histories cast and team were just brilliant and the atmosphere in the Royal Albert Hall electric. I’m still hoping we will do a stadium tour of the show someday.
